United Baseball League
United League Baseball was an independent baseball league that operated in Texas. The league operated from 2006 to 2009. The league then temporarily merged with the Northern League and the Golden Baseball League to form the North American League from 2011–2012. However, after the North American League folded at the end of the 2012 season, ULB was reformed. It dissolved for a second time in January 2015. History The league began its first season on May 16, 2006, with six teams: the Alexandria Aces, Amarillo Dillas, Edinburg Coyotes, Laredo Broncos, Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and San Angelo Colts. Texas Thunder (baseball)
The Texas Thunder were a professional baseball team. The Thunder were a member of the United League Baseball, an independent professional league, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball. The team made its debut as the Coastal Bend Thunder in the United League Baseball in 2009, after the dissolution of the Coastal Bend Aviators of the American Association the previous year. The team played in Fairgrounds Field in Robstown, Texas. Robstown is a city in Nueces County, Texas, of the United States of America, and is a western suburb of Corpus Christi, Texas, Corpus Christi. It was founded in 1907 by a land speculator from Keota, Iowa by the name of George H. Paul. Potter County Memorial Stadium was a baseball-only stadium in Amarillo, Texas. It was most recently home to the Texas AirHogs, a professional baseball team and member of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball, American Association, and the West Texas A&M Buffaloes college baseball, baseball team, which is a member of the NCAA Division II, Division II Lone Star Conference. The Texas Collegiate League (TCL) is a collegiate summer baseball league made up of teams from the states of Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The league's headquarters are in Coppell, Texas. The Continental Baseball League, based in Addison, Texas, was an independent minor league professional baseball league that operated for four seasons, from 2007 to 2010. The league conceived as a professional, independent baseball organization operating in the U.S. states of New Mexico, Louisiana and Texas in cities not served by Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball teams nor affiliated with either. Bringhurst Field
Bringhurst Field was from 1933 to 2013 a baseball stadium in Alexandria, Louisiana. Owned by the city of Alexandria, it served as the home field of the Alexandria Aces, one of the most successful independent league baseball teams, which won various championships in 1997, 1998, 2006, 2007, and 2009. It also hosted local high school games. Built in 1933 and renovated extensively in 1994, it held 3,500 people. It was the home field for a local high school, the Bolton High School Bears. LaGrave Field is an abandoned baseball park in Fort Worth, Texas. It was primarily used for baseball and was the home field of the Fort Worth Cats independent minor league baseball team. Its original version was the home of the predecessor Panthers/Cats team of the Texas League from 1926–1958; the American Association in 1959; and then in the Texas League again in 1964.
