Nationale 1 (Senegal)
The Nationale 1 Masculin (abbreviated as NM1; in English: National 1 Men) is the highest professional basketball league in Senegal. Established in 1971, the league consists of 16 teams. Each season is finished with a final in a single-game elimination format, held at the Marius Ndiaye Stadium in Dakar. AS Douanes and ASFA are the most successful team in NM1 history with 10 won titles each. The champions of the NM1 qualify directly for the regular season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the premiere continental league. Ouakam
Ouakam is a commune d'arrondissement in the city of Dakar, Senegal. The commune is the birthplace of French politicians Ségolène Royal and Rama Yade and Senegalese writer and politician Birago Diop. Ouakam is one of the four original Lebou villages of the Cap-Vert Peninsula, along with Yoff, Ngor, and Hann. Description Ouakam is an ancient village that has since been absorbed as a residential suburb of Dakar. It is situated on the Atlantic coast at the foot of a range of hills, the Deux Mamelles, Ouakam has two beaches, one of which is popular among surfers. Pape Mamadou "Mo" Faye (born 25 September 1993) is a Senegalese basketball player for AS Douanes and . Professional career In 2012, Faye started his career with Dbaloc Derkle in the Senegalese second division. In 2014, Faye transferred to M'Bour BC to play in the Nationale 1. After two seasons, he signed with US Ouakam. In the 2019–20 season, he played in Algeria with Olympique Batna of the Algerian Basketball Championship. There, he averaged 29 points and 6 assists per game. In September 2020, Faye signed with the defending Senegalese champions AS Douanes. He played with the team in the 2021 BAL season, where he averaged 14.8 points.
