The Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) is the international governing body of powerboating, based in the Principality of Monaco. Raffaele Chiulli
Raffaele Chiulli (born January 22, 1957) is an Italian sports executive who is the president of the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), the umbrella organization for all (Olympic and non-Olympic) International Sports Federations, SportAccord, the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) and the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the International Power Boating Federation. Early life and education Chiulli was born in Rome, Italy. He earned a Doctor of Sciences with honors from the Sapienza University of Rome and undertook post-graduate education at Duke University, Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD), and International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland. Powerboating
A motorboat or powerboat is a boat that is exclusively powered by an engine; faster examples may be called "speedboats". Some motorboats are fitted with inboard engines, others have an outboard motor installed on the rear, containing the internal combustion engine, the gearbox and the propeller in one portable unit. An inboard-outboard contains a hybrid of an inboard and an outboard, where the internal combustion engine is installed inside the boat, and the gearbox and propeller are outside. There are two configurations of an inboard, V-drive and direct drive.
