Unifi Mobile (stylized as unifi MOBILE) is a Malaysian internet service provider and the country's sixth mobile network operator. Originally known as Packet One Networks (P1), the company was founded on 11 February 2002 and is currently a subsidiary of the national telephone company, Telekom Malaysia. Overview Unifi Mobile operates 4G WiMAX, 4G LTE, and 4G LTE-A networks, and provide domestic roaming with Maxis with 4G and 2G EDGE networks. Unifi TV (formerly known as hyppTV, stylized as Unifi tv prior to January 2018) is an IPTV service operated by Unifi. It was launched in 2010 as part of Unifi's bundled service offering of VoIP telephone, Internet and IPTV. History An early version of Hypp TV, running through TM's Streamyx broadband service in the Klang Valley, launched in September 2004. Hypp TV launched on 22 March 2010, providing about 20 channels and 200 hours of on-demand movies and TV series. On 1 November 2010, Hypp TV began charging RM 10 for its premium channels and video-on-demand from RM 8. In 2010, the Hypp TV service was available to over 16,000 residential customers, rising to 750,000 in 2016. unifi Sports (formerly HyppSports HD) is an in-house subscription IPTV network in Malaysia dedicated to broadcasting sports-related content 24 hours a day. It is available exclusively on unifi TV. History Launched in 2012 as one of unifi TV original channels, HyppSports Illustrated HD (a joint-venture between unifi TV and Sports Illustrated Asia) offers a sports of international sporting events such as football, badminton, motorsport, rugby, volleyball and golf. unifi TV also operates two sister channels, HyppSports Illustrated 2 HD and HyppSports 3 HD on channels 702 & 703 respectively, along with a high definition simulcast of all channels. Unifi Manufacturing, Inc. is an American-based international textile manufacturing company which specializes in polyester yarns. History In 1971, Allen Mebane, Bill Kretzer, and several other executives left their positions at Universal Textured Yarns to establish their own textile company. In July, they organized Unifi with headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. Unifi's first plant was established in Yadkin County that year to texturize polyester yarn. Kwasha Lipton was an employee benefits consulting firm located in Fort Lee, New Jersey. History The firm was founded in 1944 by H. Charles "Chick" Kwasha and Maurice Lipton. Kwasha Lipton is best known for creating a type of defined benefit pension plan called a cash balance plan (CBP), which it designed for the employees of Bank of America in 1985. Kwasha Lipton implemented dozens of CBPs for its clients. CBP plans were ultimately adopted by companies throughout the United States. Some employees allege that the plans discriminate against older workers in violation of federal age discrimination law because of the way in which younger and older employees earn benefits under CBPs.
