Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Bonnie Lauer
Bonnie Lauer (born February 20, 1951) is an American professional golfer, currently retired from the LPGA Tour. Lauer graduated cum laude in 1973 from Michigan State University, where she won the national individual intercollegiate golf championship that same year. Lauer turned professional in 1975. In 1976, she won the LPGA Rookie of the Year award. Lauer had individual victories in both 1977 and 1985. She had her best finish in a major championship at the 1981 U.S. Women's Open where she finished T4 after being tied for the lead after 36 holes. Lauer was the President of the LPGA in 1988. Nancy Lopez
Nancy Marie Lopez (born January 6, 1957) is an American former professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1977 and won 48 LPGA Tour events, including three major championships. Amateur career Lopez won the New Mexico Women's Amateur at age 12 in 1969, and the U.S. Girls' Junior in 1972 and 1974, at ages 15 and 17, respectively. Shortly after graduation from Goddard High School in Roswell, she played in the U.S. Women's Open as an amateur, first in 1974 and again in 1975 where she tied for second. As a collegiate freshman in 1976, Lopez was named All-American and Female Athlete of the Year for her play at the University of Tulsa. That year she won the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) national intercollegiate golf championship and was a member of the U.S. Curtis Cup and World Amateur teams.
