Long Island Medium
''Long Island Medium'' is an American reality television series starring Theresa Caputo, a self-professed medium who claims she can communicate with the dead. Much of the program, which premiered on September 25, 2011, takes place in Hicksville, New York, though it often follows Caputo as she meets with clients in other areas. Scientific skeptics say mediumship performances are a con, and Caputo's specific claims have been deemed fictitious by critics including magician James Randi, ''Inside Edition''. and ''Jezebel''. Laika (band)
Laika were an English band formed in 1993 and helmed by Margaret Fiedler (lead vocals, programming) and Guy Fixsen (guitar, programming). Their lineup also included John Frenett (bass), Lou Ciccotelli (drums), Louise Elliott (flute, saxophone), and Rob Ellis (drums). Laika were founded following Fiedler and Frenett's departure from the band Moonshake; Laika's other members had previously worked with different artists on the roster of Moonshake's label Too Pure. Laika's experimental style blended diverse genres, including electronica, krautrock, dub, hip hop, and jazz. They released their debut album '' Silver Apples of the Moon'' in 1994, and followed with 1997's '' Sounds of the Satellites'', both to critical praise. ''Ora'' is the debut studio album by British singer Rita Ora. It was released on 24 August 2012 through Roc Nation and Columbia Records. Musically, ''Ora'' is mainly a pop album that incorporates dance elements. The album's release was preceded by two singles—" How We Do (Party)" and " R.I.P."—both of which peaked atop the UK Singles Chart and achieved standard chart positions in charts worldwide. The album also includes the DJ Fresh collaboration, " Hot Right Now", which is featured as a bonus track. The album debuted at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry.
