''Undress'' is the 2014 studio album by Californian singer-songwriter Jesca Hoop, that features duets and acoustic re-workings of previously released material. Guest include Guy Garvey, Sam Beam, Willy Mason and Erika Wennerstrom. It was released in February 2014 under Last Laugh Records and financed through crowd funding. Digital editions contained the bonus track 'City Bird'. Jesca Hoop
Jessica "Jesca" Ada Hoop (born April 21, 1975) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, who writes and performs in diverse musical styles. She has released six studio albums of her own, as well as live, acoustic and dual albums with others. Biography Early life Hoop was born in Santa Rosa, California, to traditional Mormon parents Janette and Jack Dennis Hoop. She grew up singing hymns and folk tunes with her family in four-part harmony. At age 14, her parents separated, and two years later she broke away from her Mormon religion. Hoop described losing her faith as, "Now I feel free of it: I have faith in people". Hoop moved off the grid into the rural and wilderness areas of Northern California and Wyoming where she, "lived under a tree for a summer, in yurts, in cob dwellings, and in a chicken shack that I converted". The Tabernacle
The Tabernacle is a mid-size concert hall located in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Opening in 1911 as a church, the building was converted into a music venue in 1996. It is owned and managed by concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment and has a capacity of 2,600 people. Guy Garvey
Guy Edward John Garvey (born 6 March 1974) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and BBC Radio 6 Music presenter. He is the lead singer and lyricist of the rock band Elbow. Early life Garvey grew up in Bury, Lancashire. His father was a grammar school boy who could not afford to go to university; he spent most of his working life as a newspaper proofreader and a chemist at ICI. Willy Mason (born November 21, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter. Early life Mason was born in White Plains, New York, the son of Jemima James and Michael Mason, both songwriters. Mason is a direct descendant of the 19th-century philosopher William James, the brother of novelist Henry James. When Mason was five, he and his family moved from Tarrytown, New York to West Tisbury, Massachusetts, on the island of Martha's Vineyard. Heartless Bastards
Heartless Bastards are an American rock band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2003. The band has released six albums. History Heartless Bastards originally started as a recording project of Erika Wennerstrom. She played most of the instruments and featured David Colvin on drums, along with contributions from Reuben Glaser on lead guitar and Jesse Ebaugh on bass. A five-song demo was recorded in December 2002 at Ultrasuede Studios by Shannon McGee. Wennerstrom put together a live band and played the first live show at The Comet, a bar in the Cincinnati community of Northside, in August 2003. The live lineup came to be a three-piece with Kevin Vaughn on drums and Mike Lamping on bass. The band was signed to Fat Possum Records in 2004 after Patrick Carney from The Black Keys passed along a demo he received from Wennerstrom. Rebecca Stephens (born 30 July 1982) is a singer, formerly with British band The Pipettes, where she was commonly known as RiotBecki. The Pipettes Brighton-born Stephens normally stood stage left with The Pipettes.
