TRU (an abbreviation of The Real Untouchables) was an American Hip hop music, hip hop group, with members from New Orleans, Louisiana and Richmond, California, Richmond, California, active from 1989 to 2005. Between 1992 and 1997 the band dwindled from a dozen members to just the main three brothers, Master P, C-Murder, and Silkk the Shocker. The group released six albums, incorporating the typical No Limit Records, No Limit formula of G-funk rhythms married to hardcore Gangsta rap, gangsta lyrics. Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, is a subgenre of rap music that conveys the culture, values, and experiences of urban gangs and street hustlers, frequently discussing unpleasant realities of the world in general through an urban lens. In-A-Minute Records was a record company founded in 1991 by Jason Blaine. It featured many artists from the underground bay area rap scene including RBL Posse, Andre Nickatina, I.M.P, Pooh-Man, Totally Insane. The label was shut down in 2000. Origins and early formation The label was founded in 1991 in Oakland, California, by Jason Blaine, who was disappointed by the fact that many rappers in the Bay Area were unsigned at the time. He offered RBL Posse $10,000 ahead of time to sign with his label, which they quickly accepted due to the fact that they were still selling tapes on the street. No Limit Records is an American record company founded by Master P. The label's albums were distributed by Priority Records, Universal and Koch Records. The label included artists such as Snoop Dogg, Mercedes, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac, C-Murder, Magic, Romeo Miller, Fiend, Kane & Abel, and Soulja Slim. Anthony Boswell, head of Bout It Bout It Management, served as the vice president of operations as well as head of management for the label. In the late nineties, No Limit Records enjoyed mainstream success with releases such as Master P's '' Ghetto D'', T.R.U.'s '' Tru 2 da Game'', and Snoop Dogg's '' Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told''. Percy Robert Miller (born April 29, 1967), better known by his stage name Master P, is an American rapper, record producer, record executive, dancer, actor and entrepreneur. He founded the record label No Limit Records in 1991, which was relaunched into the spin-off labels New No Limit Records and No Limit Forever Records. Shon Adams, better known by his stage name E-A-Ski, is an American rapper and producer from Oakland, California. He served as both a rapper and producer for No Limit Records, producing on Master P's early records and also releasing some of his own material. Music career 1990-95: No Limit, ''1 Step Ahead Of Yall'' and ''Blast If I Have To'' In the early 1990s E-A-Ski signed to fellow rapper Master P's label No Limit Records when he was based in Richmond, California.
