Under Siege (2023)
The 2023 Under Siege was a professional wrestling event produced by Impact Wrestling. It took place on May 26, 2023, at the Western Fair District Agriplex in London, Ontario, Canada, and aired on Impact Plus and YouTube. It was the third event under the Under Siege chronology. Eleven matches were contested at the event, including two on the pre-show and one taped as a digital exclusive. In the main event, Steve Maclin defeated PCO in a No Disqualification match to retain the Impact World Championship. In other prominent matches, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Jordynne Grace to retain the Impact Knockouts World Championship, and Alex Shelley won a six-way match to become the number one contender to the Impact World Championship. Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (abbreviated as TNA Wrestling or TNA) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Nashville, Tennessee. It is a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, a Canadian media company owned by businessman Leonard Asper. Patricia Forrest Gresham (née Parker, born March 5, 1996), better known by her ring name Jordynne Grace, is an American professional wrestler, bodybuilder and powerlifter. She is signed to WWE, where she performs on the NXT brand. She is best known for her time in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where she is a three-time TNA Knockouts World Champion, one-time TNA Digital Media Champion (and the first woman to hold the title) and TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy", "good-doer", or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans. They are portrayed as heroes relative to the heel wrestlers, who are analogous to villains. Traditionally, face characters wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience. A narrative thread, or plot thread (or, more ambiguously, a storyline), refers to particular elements and techniques of writing to center the story in the action or experience of characters rather than to relate a matter in a dry "all-knowing" sort of narration.
