''Uncle Frank'' is a 2020 American comedy-drama film written, directed, and co-produced by Alan Ball. The film stars Paul Bettany and Sophia Lillis. Alan Erwin Ball (born May 13, 1957) is an American writer, director, and producer for television, film, and theater. Ball wrote the screenplay for '' American Beauty,'' for which he earned an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He also created the series '' Six Feet Under'' and ''True Blood'', works for which he earned an Emmy as well as awards from the Writers, Directors, and Producers Guilds of America. Metacritic is a website that aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source.
