Uncharted (EP)
''Uncharted'' is an EP by the American ska punk band Less Than Jake, released by Pure Noise Records on November 15, 2024. It is their first EP produced by Bill Stevenson, who is the drummer for the Descendents. It was announced on October 8, 2024, to coincide with the release of the single "Sunny Side". The EP debuted at number 34 on the UK Independent Albums chart and number 16 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart. Background The band were reported to be in their recording studio throughout 2023 and 2024, alongside touring. On June 20, 2024, the first single, "Broken Words", was released, followed by "Walking Pipebomb" in July, "Not My Problem" in August, "Brand New Day" in September, and "Sunny Side" released alongside the EP announcement in October. Less Than Jake
Less Than Jake is an American ska punk band from Gainesville, Florida, formed in 1992. The band consists of Chris DeMakes (guitars, vocals), Roger Lima (bass, vocals), Buddy Schaub (trombone), Peter "JR" Wasilewski (saxophone) and Matt Yonker (drums). The group released its debut album, '' Pezcore'', in 1995, following a series of independent seven-inch single releases. The band's subsequent two studio albums, ''Losing Streak'' (1996) and '' Hello Rockview'' (1998), were released on a major label, Capitol Records, leading to increased exposure. Pure Noise Records
Pure Noise Records is an American punk rock record label based in Nashville, Tennessee. It was founded by Jake Round in 2009 while he was an editor at '' AMP''; the previous fall, friends of his in the band No Bragging Rights told him they were looking for a new label, and Round expressed interest in releasing the album himself. Prior to this Round had a short stint as an intern at Fat Wreck Chords. While the label began as a home operation, and had only put out five albums by the end of 2010, by 2014 some of the label's roster were main-stage acts at Warped Tour, and others had sold nearly 50,000 copies of their albums. Bill Stevenson (musician)
John William Stevenson (born September 10, 1963) is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is the drummer, main songwriter, and only constant member of the California punk rock group Descendents since its inception. In late December 1981, he played a few concerts with the hardcore punk band Black Flag because their drummer, Robo was detained in England after a tour there. He went on to record with Black Flag on several of their albums until 1985, including the highly influential '' My War''. After this, he focused his attention on Descendents and played with the band until lead singer Milo Aukerman left in 1987. After Milo's departure, Bill and the other members of Descendents, Karl Alvarez and Stephen Egerton, recruited singer Dave Smalley of Dag Nasty, moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, and formed ALL. ''Silver Linings'' is the ninth studio album by American ska punk band Less Than Jake, released on December 11, 2020. It is their first studio album in little more than seven years (their longest time between albums), their first full-length release on Pure Noise Records and their first with new drummer Matt Yonker, who joined the band following founding member Vinnie Fiorello's departure in October 2018. Recorded in November and December 2019 and mixed in February 2020, the record was delayed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the music industry. Ska punk (also spelled ska-punk) is a fusion genre that mixes ska music and punk rock music.
