Unbreakable Glass
Unbreakable glass is glass, or glass substitute, which does not display the normal fragility of glass – in general the term is not used to refer to something that is absolutely unbreakable. In historical fiction In ''Satyricon'', a work of satirical fiction by Petronius (c. 27 AD – c. 66 AD), an inventor brought a drinking bowl to the Roman emperor Tiberius made of ''Flexible glass, vitrum flexile'' – translated as either flexible or unbreakable glass – which did not shatter but merely Indentation hardness, dented. Tiberius asked if anyone else is aware of the invention. When the inventor replied that he was the only person who knew the secret, Tiberius had him killed, in order to protect the livelihood of the glassmakers. Glass is an amorphous (non-crystalline solid, non-crystalline) solid. Kristallglas AG is a manufacturer of crystal glass located in Zwiesel, Germany. History Founding On 25 November 1872 sheet glass was manufactured for the first time in a new glassworks, whose designer was the Zwiesel carter, Anton Mueller. In 1878 a storage hall, a house and stables were added for the factory manager; in 1883 the factory pub was opened. On 7 November 1884, Mueller sold the factory with the buildings and a surface area of altogether 3.045 hectares for 36,000 Goldmarks to the brothers Theodor and Gustav Tasche of Cologne. Superfest
Superfest, also called CV-Glas or Ceverit until 1980, was a brand of drinking glasses in the GDR. Due to being made of chemically strengthened glass, they were notably strong. The ''Superfest'' glasses were produced between 1980 and 1990 in what was then state-owned ''Sachsenglas Schwepnitz''. The GDR regarded the product as a key potential export and gave it priority for development. However, foreign sales were not secured, as potential buyers regarded the idea of long-life glassware as detrimental to their ability to sell replacements. As state employees in a state owned industry, the inventors did not receive significant financial rewards or royalties, but were honoured for their achievements. Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass consisting of two or more layers of glass with one or more thin polymer interlayers between them which prevent the glass from breaking into large sharp pieces. Breaking produces a characteristic "spider web" cracking pattern (radial and concentric cracks) when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass. Laminated glass is used for architecture, glazing, automobile safety, photovoltaic, UV protection, and artistic expression.
