Ummon (album)
''Ummon'' is the second studio album by French progressive rock band, Slift. The album was released on 28 February 2020 through Vicious Circle. Two singles were released ahead of the album: the title track, "Ummon", in 2019, and "Hyperion" in 2020. Album art was done by French comic artist Caza (Philippe Cazaumayou). Critical reception The album was well received by music critics. On ''The Elite Extremophile'', the website gave ''Ummon'' a 93 out of 100 saying that ''Ummon'' " asharnessed the menace of doom metal, the energy of garage rock, the hypnotic repetition of krautrock, and the general strangeness of prog. They put those elements together in an impressive and intense package. This album is demanding, but it is worth your time and energy." Slift
Slift (stylised as SLIFT) is a French rock band from Toulouse. The band consists of brothers Jean (guitar, vocals, synthesizers) and Rémi Fossat (bass), and their high school friend, Canek Flores (drums). Since forming in 2016, the band has released three LPs, one EP, and multiple live sessions, in addition to touring internationally in Europe and North America. Rough Trade Records
Rough Trade Records is an independent record label based in London, England. It was formed in 1976 by Geoff Travis who had opened a record store off Ladbroke Grove. Having successfully promoted and sold records by punk rock and early post-punk and indie pop bands such as the Normal and Desperate Bicycles, Travis began to manage acts and distribute bands such as Scritti Politti and began the label, which was informed by left-wing politics and structured as a co-operative.
