Iraqi Second Division League
The Iraqi Second Division League is a Association football, football league that is the fourth tier of the Iraqi football league system. The league was founded in 1974, and consists of 20 teams split into two groups in the first stage. The top four teams in each group qualify for the second stage, where they are split into two further groups. The two group winners in the second stage are promoted directly to the Iraqi First Division League, while the two bottom teams in the first stage are relegated to the Iraqi Third Division League. In the 2023–24 Iraqi Second Division League, 2023–24 season, Al-Jaish SC (Iraq), Al-Jaish won the championship title after defeating Al-Falluja SC, Al-Falluja 4–2 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the final match. Umm Qasr
Umm Qasr (, also transliterated as ''Um-qasir'', ''Um-qasser, Um Qasr. Kurdish: ئومقەسڕ, Ûmqêsir'') is a port city in southern Iraq. It stands on the canalised Khawr az-Zubayr, part of the Khawr Abd Allah estuary which leads to the Persian Gulf. It is separated from the border of Kuwait by a small inlet. A bridge across the waterway linked the port with Kuwait prior to the 1991 Persian Gulf War. Basra () is a port city in Iraq, southern Iraq. 2000–01 Iraqi Elite League
The 2000–01 Iraqi Elite League was the 27th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. The name of the league was changed from ''Iraqi First Division League'' to ''Iraqi Elite League''. Instead of relegating teams from the 1999–2000 season and promoting teams from the lower division in order to decide which teams were playing in the competition, the Iraq Football Association decided that every eligible team in the country should play qualifying games in order to decide who participated. The qualifying rounds saw a total of 135 teams being split into regional groups, all competing for the 16 places in the league. After all the qualifiers were over in December, the league competition itself was held with each team playing 30 matches. The 2021–22 Iraqi Second Division League was the 48th season of what is now called the Iraqi First Division League, the third tier of the Iraqi football league system, since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have varied throughout history for various reasons; in this season the number of clubs was 112. The top four teams in the Final Qualifiers were promoted directly to the Iraqi Premier Division League, Iraqi First Division League, while the last eighteen teams in the Qualifiers within the Governorates were relegated directly to the Iraqi Second Division League, Iraqi Third Division League.
