Ultra Pirineu
Ultra Pirineu is an international skyrunning competition held for the first time in 2009 under the name Cavalls del Vent. It has been known as Ultra Pirineu since the 2014 edition. It takes place in Bagà, Spain, in September each year. The race has formed part of the Skyrunner World Series. Bagà
Bagà is a Spanish municipality located in the comarca of Berguedà, in Catalonia. Traditionally, Bagà is considered the capital of ''Alt Berguedà'', the mountainous northern half of the comarca. Location Bagà is located at the head of the valley of the Llobregat river, at the feet of the high mountains of the Cadí range. The town itself is at 785 metres above sea level. Skyrunning Competitions
Skyrunning is a sport of mountain running up to or exceeding where the minimum average incline is 6% over the total distance and at least 5% has an incline of 30% or more. The climbing difficulty does not exceed II grade UIAA. Poles, crampons and hands may be used to aid progress. The governing body is the International Skyrunning Federation. The sport comprises a number of different disciplines from the short, steep Vertical Kilometer to the more popular SkyRace and SkyMarathon. Ultra SkyMarathons are becoming increasingly popular as are short vertical SkySpeed races which include skyscraper racing.
