Ultra Motorsports
Ultra Motorsports was a NASCAR Winston Cup and Craftsman Truck Series racing team. Jim Smith helped start the team and the Craftsman Truck Series. It ran full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series from 1995 to 2005, earning 31 series wins and a championship in 2005 with Ted Musgrave. Early in 2006, Ultra announced that they would close up shop after a fallout with Ford. Winston Cup Ultra Motorsports began running Winston Cup in 1994, when P. J. Jim Smith (racing Businessman)
Jim Smith is an American motocross racer and former NASCAR team owner who helped found the Craftsman Truck Series. Smith tested a prototype of the truck prior to the 1994 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Smith owned Ultra Motorsports until the closing of their shop in early 2006 following a sponsorship dispute with the Ford Motor Company. Ultra Motorsports fielded Dodges in the Craftsman Truck Series for Ted Musgrave and Jimmy Spencer, and was an investment partner with Robby Gordon Motorsports in the NEXTEL Cup Series. Bobby Hamilton
Charles Robert Hamilton Sr. (May 29, 1957 – January 7, 2007) was an American stock car racing driver and racing team owner. A driver and owner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series circuit and the winner of the 2004 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship, Hamilton owned Bobby Hamilton Racing. Hamilton's son, Bobby Hamilton Jr., was also a NASCAR driver. Hamilton may be best remembered for two of his Winston Cup Series wins. His first career victory at the 1996 Dura Lube 500 at Phoenix was the first win for the No. 43 Petty car since Richard Petty's last win in 1984. Robert Wesley Gordon (born January 2, 1969) is an American semi-retired auto racing driver. He has raced in NASCAR, Championship Auto Racing Teams, CART, the IndyCar Series, the Trans-Am Series, International Motor Sports Association, IMSA, International Race of Champions, IROC and the Dakar Rally. While no longer competing in IndyCar and NASCAR racing, he is active in top-tier off road motorsports such as Best in the Desert, BITD, National Off-Road Racing Association, NORRA, and SCORE International. Geoff Bodine Racing (also known as GEB Racing) was a NASCAR Winston Cup and Craftsman Truck Series team. It was owned and operated by former NASCAR driver Geoffrey Bodine following his purchase of the estate of Alan Kulwicki. He remained owner of the team until the 1998 season, when he sold the operation to Jim Mattei and John Porter. Through the chain of succession, the team's final owner was Robby Gordon. Butch Gilliland
Leonard N. "Butch" Gilliland (born February 25, 1958) is an American former NASCAR Winston Cup Series and Craftsman Truck Series driver from California. He was the 1997 Winston West Series champion and based on the west coast. All of his 10 Cup starts came at either Sears Point Raceway or Phoenix International Raceway, most of them as West competitors in Cup/West combination races, and all 12 of his Truck Series starts came at various west coast tracks. The 1995 NASCAR SuperTruck Series presented by Craftsman was the inaugural season of the NASCAR SuperTruck Series. The season began on February 5, 1995, and ended on October 28.
