Uku Hänni (born 27 August 1943, in Kullamaa Parish (now Lääne-Nigula Parish)) is an Estonia Estonia, officially the Republic of Estonia, is a country in Northern Europe. Lääne-Nigula Parish () is a rural municipality of Estonia, in Lääne County. It has a population of 7,041 (as of 1 January 2019) and an area of . Lääne-Nigula Parish was established by merging Oru, Risti, and Taebla parishes after the municipal elections held on 20 October 2013. In 2017, the former municipalities Noarootsi, Nõva, Kullamaa and Martna were also merged into Lääne-Nigula. Politics There are 17 seats in the local government council. The government of the parish is located in Taebla. Liia Hänni (née Juulik; born 4 October 1946) is an Estonian astrophysicist, social activist and former politician who voted for the Estonian restoration of Independence. Education Born in Atla, Saare County, Liia Hänni graduated from Saaremaa gymnasium in 1965 and the University of Tartu's Department of Physics in 1970. Research activities From 1970 to 1990, Hänni was a junior researcher and senior researcher of the Estonian Academy of Sciences in Astrophysics and the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (later Tartu Observatory).
