Hatkanangale
Hatkanangale is a town and tehsil headquarters in Ichalkaranji subdivision of Kolhapur district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Hatkanangale has a close proximity with Kolhapur, Ichalkaranji, Bhadole, and Sangli. It has a railway station on the Miraj-Kolhapur line and also has good road facility which connects it to the neighboring cities. In spite of all this and being a taluka, it is not as developed as to be called a city. It has many textile and small scale manufacturing factories. Many people travel to Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur and Sangli for work. Water facility is good in the town. Agriculture is developing in this area, most of area is now under irrigation facility. Many farmers manage to take more than one crop. Main crops are Sugarcane, jawar, soybean and groundnut. Education facilities are not adequate as a taluka place. Kagal
Kagal is a town in Kolhapur district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. History During the rule of the Marathas and British raj, the town was the seat of a noble Ghatge Maratha family who were among the most important in princely state of Kolhapur. Sultan Mahmud Padshah, the Muslim ruler of Bijapur, rewarded in 1572 the Kagal dynasty founder Piraji Raje, the descendant of Kamraja Suryavanshi, the progenitor of Ghatge family known as ''Zunzar Rao'' (Valiant Fighter), with the title Sarjerao and the Kagal pargana, then consisting of 69 and a 1/2 villages, as a Jagir (vassal estate) within the princely state of Kolhapur (later a salute state).
