Udaan (album)
''Udaan'' (translated: Talking Flight) is a Nepali music album launched by singer Shweta Punjali in April 2015. It contains six songs (see below) all of which are composed by award-winning Nepali music composer Nhyoo Bajracharya and written by noted Nepali and Newari poet Durga Lal Shrestha. The album is the first mainstream Nepali music album (fully produced in Nepal) to be released on online music stories, including iTunes Store, Google Play Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, Deezer Deezer is a French online music streaming service. Shweta Punjali
Shweta Punjali is a Nepali musician, well known for her debut album '' Udaan'' a number of songs from which were nominated at various national music awards. She is also the winner of the Best New Talent award at the 2016 Nepali Music Video Award and was a nominee for Best Newcomer at the 2015 Tuborg Image Music Award. She sings primarily Nepali Adhunik, a style of singing marked with traditional melodies from the South Asian nation but with an influence of western instruments such as electric piano, guitar, violin and percussion. She also sings bhajan and Nepali classical songs. Shweta was also a top contestant on a number of national music reality shows Nepali Tara (second season) and Bagina. Nhyoo Bajracharya
Nhyoo Bajracharya (Nepal Bhasa ) is a Nepali music composer, lyricist, and singer. He is widely regarded as one of the best music composers in Nepali music industry. He has composed hundreds of famous songs in Nepali, Newar and Hindi, and one song in Chinese. He is also remembered for his compositions for Ani Choying Dolma with his fusion style music. Some of his hit compositions are ''Saya Thari Baja Eutai Taal'', ''Shanti Lukau Kaha'', ''Phool ko Aakhama'', ''Laaija Chari'', ''Kya Bore Bhayo'', ''Aadhi Baato Hide Pachi Timi Sita Bhet Vayo'', ''Orali Lageko'', among many others. Nepali Language
Nepali (; , ) is an Indo-Aryan language native to the Himalayas region of South Asia. It is the official, and most widely spoken, language of Nepal, where it also serves as a '' lingua franca''. Newar Language
Newar (), or Newari and known officially in Nepal as Nepal Bhasa, is a Sino-Tibetan language spoken by the Newar people, the indigenous inhabitants of Nepal Mandala, which consists of the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding regions in Nepal. "Nepal Bhasa" literally means "Nepalese language", however the language is not the same as Nepali (Devanāgarī: नेपाली), the country's current official language of the central government. The two languages belong to different language families (Sino-Tibetan and Indo-European, respectively), but centuries of contact have resulted in a significant body of shared vocabulary. Durga Lal Shrestha
Durga Lal Shrestha (born July 1935) is a Nepalese poet of Nepal Bhasa and Nepali. He was conferred with the title of ''Janakavi'' ( lit. people's poet) by Nepal Bhasha Parishad in 2003. He is considered as a progressive litterateur. He was awarded the Jagadamba Shree Puraskar in 2010 for "enriching Nepalese literature by writing very melodious songs, poems, poetry and children's literature in his mother tongue (Nepal Bhasa) and Nepali language for the last six decades."
