Ubu Roi
''Ubu Roi'' (; "Ubu the King" or "King Ubu") is a play by French writer Alfred Jarry, then 23 years old. It was first performed in Paris in 1896, by Aurélien Lugné-Poe's Théâtre de l'Œuvre at the Nouveau-Théâtre (today, the Théâtre de Paris). The production's single public performance baffled and offended audiences with its unruliness and obscenity. A wild, bizarre and comic play, significant for its overturning of cultural rules, norms and conventions, it is regarded by 20th- and 21st-century scholars as having opened the door for what became known as modernism in the 20th century, and as a precursor to Dadaism, Surrealism and the Theatre of the Absurd. Overview ''Ubu Roi'' was first performed in Paris on December 10, 1896, by Aurélien Lugné-Poe's Théâtre de l'Œuvre at Nouveau-Théâtre (today, the Théâtre de Paris), 15, rue Blanche, in the 9th arrondissement. The play – scheduled for an invited "industry" run-through followed by a single public performa ...

Unbiunium
Unbiunium, also known as eka-actinium or element 121, is a hypothetical chemical element; it has symbol Ubu and atomic number 121. ''Unbiunium'' and ''Ubu'' are the temporary systematic IUPAC name and symbol respectively, which are used until the element is discovered, confirmed, and a permanent name is decided upon. In the periodic table of the elements, it is expected to be the first of the superactinides, and the third element in the eighth period. It has attracted attention because of some predictions that it may be in the island of stability. It is also likely to be the first of a new g-block of elements. Unbiunium has not yet been synthesized. It is expected to be one of the last few reachable elements with current technology; the limit could be anywhere between element 120 and 124. It will also likely be far more difficult to synthesize than the elements known so far up to 118, and still more difficult than elements 119 and 120. The teams at RIKEN in Japan and at the ...

University Of Bradford Union
The University of Bradford Union (UBU) is the students' union for the University of Bradford in Bradford, England, and is a registered charity. Organisation UBU, referred to in full as The University of Bradford Union of Students, is led by an executive of four full-time sabbatical officers, elected annually towards the end of the academic season, and a (often varying) number of non-sabbatical Executive Officers elected either at that same time or at the start of the academic year. The Executive is unusual in not having a Students' union#Officers, president, in favour of a "flat structure". Regular reviews of the Officer roles are undertaken, with the number of sabbaticals falling from six to four in 2018 (in conjunction with a decline in student numbers), and an ongoing process of review to ensure the roles remain relevant. The Executive reports to a student Council that meets at least six times each academic year. Council members are elected through a combination of open plac ...
