The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national Sport governing body, governing body for tennis in the United States. A not-for-profit organization with more than 700,000 members, it invests 100% of its proceeds to promote and develop the growth of tennis, from the grass-roots to the professional levels. The association was created to standardize rules and regulations and to promote and develop the growth of tennis in the United States. The USTA runs the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center which hosts the US Open (tennis), US Open every year. The USTA has leagues in most places for adults skill levels between beginner and pro. The USTA also hosts tournaments across the country every weekend for club players or professionals. USTA Tennis On Campus
Tennis on Campus (TOC) is the national College club sports in the United States, collegiate club tennis league operated by the United States Tennis Association (USTA). The league is played on Hardcourt, hard courts in World TeamTennis format. 370 colleges throughout the USTA#Geographical sections, 15 USTA geographical sections nationwide compete in the league. The league's regular season takes place in the fall and spring along with four major tournaments, culminating with the National Championship. Competition format The regular season games are played in tournaments which are hosted by individual universities at their campus tennis facilities or a local tennis center. The matches are played in Mixed gender sport, mixed gender World TeamTennis format which features four separate brackets in tournaments; copper, bronze, silver, and gold in a pool play system. USTA Southern California, formerly known as the Southern California Tennis Association, is one of 17 sections that make up the United States Tennis Association. Each non-profit section represents various geographic locations around North America with the goal to support players and promote the growth of tennis across the United States. USTA Southern California has 40,000 members and more than 2,000 member organizations or tennis facilities. USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center
The USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is a stadium complex within Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York City, New York. It has been the home of the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament, played every year in August and September, since 1978 and is operated by the United States Tennis Association (USTA). The facility has 22 courts inside its and 12 in the adjoining park. The complex's three stadiums are among the largest tennis stadiums in the world; Arthur Ashe Stadium tops the global list with a listed capacity of 23,200. When the facility was built in 1978, all 33 courts used the DecoTurf cushioned acrylic surface, as did Court 17, added in 2011. However, in 2020, the court surfaces were replaced with Laykold. The Grand Slam in tennis is the achievement of winning all four major championships in one discipline in a calendar year. USTA National Campus
The USTA National Campus is a tennis training center and tournament venue in Lake Nona, Orlando, Florida. Owned by the United States Tennis Association (USTA), it houses 100 tennis courts, a strength and conditioning center, and a dormitory. History The USTA National Campus broke ground on April 8, 2015. Originally scheduled to open in late 2016, it officially opened on January 5, 2017. Situated on of land, the facility houses 100 tennis courts, comprising indoor and outdoor hardcourts, Har-Tru green clay courts, and red clay courts. The Winston-Salem Open is a men's professional tennis tournament played on the ATP Tour at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in the United States. Atlanta Open (tennis)
The Atlanta Open was a professional men's tennis tournament that was played in the Atlanta area in the United States from 2010 to 2024, usually during July or August. The tournament was played on outdoor hard courts as part of the USTA's US Open Series, the seven-week summer season lead-up to the U.S. Open. The Atlanta Open was known as the ''Atlanta Tennis Championships'' for its first two years before signing BB&T as a title sponsor in 2012. In 2015, the tournament was acquired by GF Sports from its then-owners, the USTA. The event was removed from the 2025 calendar.
