USS PCE-867
USS ''PCE-867'' was a for the United States Navy during World War II. She was renamed ROCS ''Yong Tai'' (PCE-41) and ROCS ''Shan Hai'' (PCE-62) after being acquired by the Republic of China Navy on 7 February 1948. Construction and career ''PCE-867'' was laid down by Albina Engineer & Machine Works, Portland on 8 July 1942 and launched on 3 December 1942. She was commissioned on 20 June 1943. After the war on 12 September 1945, she was transferred to the Republic of China Navy as ROCS ''Yong Tai'' (PCE-41) under the Lend-Lease program. Yong Tai was commissioned on an unknown date under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Wang Enhua. On 8 June 1947, ''Yong Tai'' was transiting from Huludao to Qingdao when a newly assigned second lieutenant Ji Rui armed with a gun fired 7 shots on board the ship, injuring the captain, Lieutenant Colonel Li Yuxi and two other officers. Albina Engine & Machine Works
Albina Engine & Machine Works was a shipyard along the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, United States. It was located in the Albina area of Portland along N. River Street and N. Loring Street. Albina Engine & Machine Works was founded in 1904. The shipyard produced a number of freighters during World War I, but operated mainly as a repair yard during the 1920s and 1930s. The Albina yard expanded its workforce and production during Portland's World War II shipbuilding boom. It specialized in producing subchasers, vessels designed to combat German U-boats. Albina Engine & Machine Works also built Landing Craft Support boats and cargo ships. Wuqiu (Wuchiu, Wuciou, Ockseu) (Puxian Min: ''Ou-chhiu'', Hakka: ''Vû-hiu-hiông'') is a group of islands comprising two major islands, namely Greater Qiu Islet and Smaller Qiu Islet, in the Taiwan Strait. USS ''Refresh'' (AM-287) was an Admirable-class minesweeper built for the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was built to clear minefields in offshore waters, and served the Navy in the Pacific Ocean. Post-war, her crew returned home with two battle stars to their credit.
