USLS Lady Stingers
The University of St. La Salle (USLS) is a Catholic private research university run by the De La Salle Brothers, located in La Salle Avenue, Bacolod, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Established in 1952 as ''La Salle College - Bacolod'', it is the second oldest campus founded by the congregation in the country (first and oldest outside of Manila). The university is a member of De La Salle Philippines, a network established in 2006 comprising 16 Lasallian educational institutions in the Philippine islands. The university offers preschool, elementary, secondary (junior & senior high), undergraduate, and graduate programs. 2005 Southeast Asian Games
The 2005 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 23rd Southeast Asian Games, were a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Manila, Philippines. This was the third time the Philippines hosted the games and its first time since 1991. Previously, Philippines also staged the games for the first time in 1981. Around 5336 athletes from 11 participating nations participated at the games which featured 443 events in 40 sports. The games was held from 27 November to 5 December 2005, although several events had commenced from 20 November 2005. The games was opened and closed by Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the President of the Philippines at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park. Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two to four players each on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court. Lourdes Quisumbing
Lourdes Quisumbing (February 13, 1921 – October 14, 2017) served as the Philippines' Secretary of Education, Culture, and Sports from 1986 to 1989, under the presidency of Corazon Aquino. La Salle Coliseum
The La Salle Coliseum (also called the USLS Coliseum) is an indoor sporting arena located inside the campus of the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod, Philippines and hosts sporting and entertainment events in the province. The Coliseum played host to a number of basketball games, serves as the home arena of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's Bacolod City of Smiles and Negros Muscovados.
