The University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken or USCA) is a public university in the Aiken, South Carolina area. It is part of the University of South Carolina System and offers undergraduate degree programs as well as master's degrees. Additional graduate courses and degree programs are offered through the University of South Carolina Extended Graduate Campus program. The University of South Carolina Aiken awards baccalaureate degrees in more than 30 major areas of study including the bachelor of science in business administration online through Palmetto College. Campus The campus is located on in the Aiken area, from Augusta, Georgia, and 60 miles from Columbia, South Carolina. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is an American professional and accreditation organization. Leon Lott
Leon Lott (born 1953) is the commander of the South Carolina State Guard and the sheriff of Richland County, South Carolina. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Early life Lott was born in Aiken, South Carolina and attended Aiken High School. As a youth, Lott was arrested for throwing eggs at vehicles on Interstate 20. Lott struck the cruiser of the chief investigator for the sheriff’s department. While he and a few others were detained, they were not charged. After graduating high school in 1971, he studied at the University of South Carolina Aiken where he earned an associate degree in police administration. He transferred to University of South Carolina to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology followed by a master's degree in criminal justice. Chris Corley
Christopher Aaron Corley (born September 12, 1980) is an American politician. He is a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 84th District, serving from 2014 to 2017. He is a member of the Republican Party. Corley resigned from the State House in early 2017 amid domestic violence allegations, to which he pled guilty. ''Aiken Standard'' is a daily newspaper published from Aiken, South Carolina, United States. It was established in 1867. It was called the ''Aiken Press''. History The newspaper passed through the hands of several owners during the 1800s. One of the paper's most prominent early owners was James F. Byrnes. Byrnes, who was a congressman, U.S. senator, South Carolina governor, U.S. Secretary of State, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court and "Assistant" to the President of the United States. Under Byrnes and his partner, Alva Lorenz, the ''Journal and Review'' developed into Aiken's main newspaper.
