URBNET Records is an independent record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. URBNET was formed by Darryl Rodway and Janusz Jarosinski in 1999 to provide distribution, marketing and promotional services to Hip Hop artists throughout Canada. URBNET was distributed by EMI Music Canada from 2002–2003, Outside Music from 2003–2006 and is distributed in Canada by Fontana Distribution (North), a subsidiary of Universal Music Canada. Tru-Paz are a Toronto-based hip hop group, composed of core members Akim, Boozie, Jakie Lu and producer Dj Unknown. They have been recording and releasing hip hop music since 2001. Tru-Paz have described their sound as hip hop with reggae and soul music, soul influences. To date, they have released 4 albums and 2 EPs, all with URBNET Records/Incognito Entertainment. Oliver Nestor, better known as DL Incognito, is a Canadian hip hop rapper and producer from Ottawa, Ontario. He is currently signed to URBNET Records but also operates his independent label Nine Planets Hip Hop along with his brother. In 2007 and 2009, he was nominated for a Juno for Best Rap Recording. Musical career DL first started his career in 1999 when he appeared on the Nine Planets Hip Hop compilation ''Welcome To The Land Of The Lost''. His first solo release was his 2002 release, ''A Sample and a Drum Machine''. Two years later, he released the album ''Life's a Collection of Experiences''. Daniel Faraldo (born June 10, 1977), known professionally as Dan-e-o, is a Canadian hip hop artist and actor of Jamaican and Spanish descent. In June 2015, Dan-e-o received the award for ''Best Hip Hop Artist'' at the ''Black Canadian Awards''. He is a member of the groups Monolith and Perfeck Strangers, both based in Scarborough, Ontario. Early career Born in Toronto, Canada, Dan-e-o won a contest on the television dance show, ''Electric Circus'', at the age of 13 and went on to become a consistent winner of rap battles and talent show contests. The Carps
The Carps were a Canadian rock music duo consisting of bassist Neil White and drummer Jahmal Tonge. They were signed to Toronto-based URBNET Records. Bio (All Music Guide) Rarely photographed without multi-colored leather hi tops, turquoise or pink T-shirts, and skinny jeans, the two members of the Carps wear their hipster cred on their sleeves while making a full and unique blend of R&B and stripped-down indie rock—as a two-piece, no less. Neil White became friends with Jahmal Tonge at a young age in Toronto, and the two started creating music as a free-spirited pastime to fill the hours between skateboarding and golfing of all things. Pigeon Hole is a Canadian hip hop group from Vancouver. They were previously known as "Creative Minds". The duo consists of Colin "Dusty Melo" McCue and Lee "Marmalade" Napthine, who are also members of the band Sweatshop Union. History McCue and Nepthine began jamming together in 1993 while still in school in their hometown of Nanaimo. Daniel Denton (born November 14, 1973), better known by his stage name Moka Only, is a Canadian underground hip hop artist.
