University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh () (ULAB) is a private liberal arts-based university in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in February 2002, permission to open was received from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh in November 2003, pursuant to the Private University Act, 1992. ULAB incorporates the values of liberal arts and sustainability into its curricula, through its General Education Department and its Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). ULAB is a research-intensive university, with multiple research opportunities for its faculty members and students. Campus The university's campus is located in Mohammadpur in Dhaka. It is one of the largest private universities in Bangladesh. The foundation of the campus was laid in February 2002. Classes started in the permanent campus from 1 October 2004. Imran Rahman
Imran Rahman (born 22 February 1957) is a Bangladeshi academic who began serving a second term as vice-chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) in 2021. He spent 28 years at Institute of Business Administration (IBA) as a faculty member in the department of finance, chairman of the BBA Program, and chairman of the IBA Computer Center before joining ULAB as the director of the School of Business in 2006. He became pro-vice-chancellor of the university during 2009–2012, and was vice-chancellor during 2012–2016. Rahman was a vocalist and guitarist of Bangladeshi band Renaissance. Konal
Somnur Monir Konal is a Bangladeshi singer and television host who is best known as a playback singer for Bangladeshi films. She debuted in the entertainment industry by winning the musical television reality show Channel i ''Shera Kontho'' in 2009. Since then she has recorded songs for dozens of films, hosted various television shows, and judged the 2019 edition of children's musical reality show ''Ganer Raja''. As of 2022, she has sung for films with more than 300 songs. Rafiqul Islam (educationist)
Rafiqul Islam (1 January 1934 – 30 November 2021) was a Bangladeshi educationist, scholar, writer, linguist and cultural activist. He served at the Bangla Academy as a president (2021) and a director general (2001). He was inducted as a National Professor by the Government of Bangladesh in July 2018. He was a vice-chancellor (2007–2011), professor emeritus and adviser to the Centre for Bangla Studies of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). Abdul Mannan (educator)
Abdul Mannan is a Bangladeshi educator. He served as the 12th chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh during 2015–2019 and the vice-chancellor of the University of Chittagong during 1996–2001. Education and career Mannan earned his master's in Management from the University of Dhaka in 1972. He completed his graduate and post-graduate studies from the University of Hawaii and the Miami University in 1978.
