''UFC Fight Night: Magny vs. Ponzinibbio'' (also known as ''UFC Fight Night 140'') was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that was held on November 17, 2018 at Estadio Mary Terán de Weiss in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Background The event marked the promotion's first visit to Argentina. A welterweight bout between Neil Magny and Santiago Ponzinibbio headlined the event. Veronica Macedo was expected to face Maryna Moroz at the event. However, Macedo pulled out of the fight due to an injury and was replaced by KSW Women's Flyweight Champion and promotional newcomer Ariane Lipski. In turn, Moroz pulled out due to injury on October 30 and as a result the bout was cancelled. Claudio Puelles was scheduled to face Devin Powell at the event. Jared Christopher Cannonier (born March 16, 1984) is an American professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of February 4, 2025, he is #7 in the UFC middleweight rankings. Mixed martial arts career Early career Cannonier began his amateur mixed martial arts career in early 2011, winning his first two fights by knockout. In June 2011, he made his professional MMA debut in Alaska. He fought sporadically over the next five years, amassing a record of 7–0. Ian Edward Heinisch (born August 5, 1988) is an American former mixed martial artist who previously competed in the middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional since 2015, he has also competed for the World Series of Fighting and Legacy Fighting Alliance, where he is the former Interim Middleweight Champion. Background Heinisch, who is a Colorado native, was diagnosed with ADHD when he was young. His parents home schooled him and placed him in wrestling classes as he had too much energy and could not pay attention in school. He won the Colorado state high school championship and was an All-American twice.
