UEFA Euro 1992 Qualifying Group 5
Group 5 of the UEFA Euro 1992 qualifying tournament was played as four team group consisting of Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and Wales. At the time of the draw on 2 February 1990, Group 5 had contained a fifth team, East Germany. The first scheduled match would see Belgium play East Germany on 12 September 1990. On 23 August 1990, the East German parliament confirmed reunification would take place on 3 October. Accordingly, said Belgium-East Germany match, for which tickets had been sold, was still played but as a friendly and was the last match East Germany played. All other games involving East Germany were scratched and fixtures initially scheduled for West Germany were now played as a unified Germany team. Robert 'Robby' Langers (born 1 August 1960) is a Luxembourgish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He was voted Luxembourgish Sportsman of the Year in 1987. The Constant Vanden Stock Stadium (; ), also known as the Lotto Park for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in the municipality of Anderlecht in Brussels, Belgium. It is home to R.S.C. Vincenzo "Enzo" Daniele Scifo (; born 19 February 1966) is a retired Belgian football midfielder. He has also managed the Belgium national under-21 football team and several Belgian club sides. He played for clubs in Belgium, France and Italy, where he won several domestic titles. Jan Anna Gumaar Ceulemans (; born 28 February 1957) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as midfielder. A prolific goalscorer, Ceulemans was known for his stamina, aerial ability, technique and was also recognized as one of the greatest Belgium footballers of all time. Erwin Vandenbergh (; born 26 January 1959) is a Belgian retired professional footballer who played as a forward. Between 1979 and 1991, he finished six times as topscorer of the Belgian First Division (a still standing record), with three clubs (the first three with Lierse, the following two with Anderlecht, and the last one with Gent). In 1980, he was European topscorer with 39 goals out of 34 games. The Stade Josy Barthel is the former national stadium of Luxembourg, and the former home of the Luxembourg national football team.
