UCT Radio is a campus radio station operated by students of the University of Cape Town (UCT) in Cape Town, South Africa. UCT Radio broadcasts on the 104.5 MHz frequency from a 20 watt transmitter located at . According to the university website, the station broadcasts its signal from the main Upper Campus in the Southern Suburbs, and all the way across the Cape Flats towards the Northern Suburbs of the greater Cape Town area. According to the Radio Audience Measurement Survey, UCT Radio had a weekly listenership of 30,000 people. Idols South Africa
''Idols'' is a television show on the South African television network Mzansi Magic, and previously on M-Net, based on the popular British show '' Pop Idol''. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in South Africa. The general format of the show is that thousands of hopeful performers from across South Africa audition in front of the judges. They are narrowed down to approximately 100 to enter the theatre rounds. They perform in group and solo rounds until 16 finalists are chosen by the judges (usually 8 males and 8 females). From these, the top 10 are selected, then each week viewers have several hours following the broadcast of the previous episode to vote by phone, SMS or online for their favourite contestant. Top Billing was a South African lifestyle television programme that aired on SABC3 on Saturday evenings from 18:00–19:00 with repeats on Sundays at 12:00. It was founded by Basetsana Kumalo and Patience Stevens, who own the ''Tswelopele Production'' company. The show was the longest-running entertainment and lifestyle programme in South Africa, broadcasting since 1992. In addition to a variety of presenters, there was a voice-over guide throughout the programme. A magazine of the same name was launched in March 2004, containing similar content to the show. Natalie Bridgette Becker is a South African actress. Biography Becker was born in George, Western Cape province and raised in Cape Town. She is of Cape Coloured descent. Becker has spoken about growing up lonely on a small holding because her mother and stepfather were in a mixed-raced marriage that was illegal at the time under apartheid laws in South Africa.
