UCIDE
The Union of Islamic Communities of Spain (UCIDE; es, 1=Unión de Comunidades Islámicas de España) is a religious organization with seat centered in Madrid. It is supported by Spanish Islamic religious communities. UCIDE is registered in the Registry of Religious Entities at the Spanish Ministry of Presidency and has a cooperation agreement in force with the Community of Madrid. Its purpose is the development of Islamic religious activities. Under an agreement signed with the University of Valencia was established the Chair for the Three Religions for the research, teaching and information about Islam, Judaism and Christianity. It is a co-founder of the Islamic Commission of Spain (CIE), representative at the Spanish State, and of the Muslim Council for Cooperation in Europe (CMCE), representative organ at the European Union. Islamic Commission of Spain ( es, Comisión Islámica de España) is the representative organ of Islam and Muslims before the citizenship and the Administration for the representation, negotiation, signature and follow-up on the Islam - State agreements adopted in Law 26/1992. The Islamic Commission of Spain meets periodically with representatives of the Administration in the Mixed Paritary Commission; in addition to the conjunctural communications with the Ministry of the Presidency on legislative initiatives, and with the Main Directorate of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Justice. Spain is a Christian majority country, with Islam being a minority religion, practised mostly by the immigrants and their descendants from Muslim majority countries. Due to the secular nature of the Spanish constitution, Muslims are free to proselytize and build places of worship in the country. Islam was a major religion on the Iberian Peninsula, beginning with the Umayyad conquest of Hispania and ending (at least overtly) with its prohibition by the modern Spanish state in the mid-16th century and the expulsion of the Moriscos in the early 17th century, an ethnic and religious minority of around 500,000 people. Abu-Bakr Mosque (Madrid)
The Madrid Central Mosque ( es, Mezquita Central de Madrid) is a building located in Cuatro Caminos neighborhood of Tetuán district. During its construction, its proximity to '' Estrecho'' (literally '' strait'', after the Strait of Gibraltar) metro station gave birth to the popular name of the ''Strait Mosque''. Imam (; ar, إمام '; plural: ') is an Islamic leadership position. For Sunni Muslims, Imam is most commonly used as the title of a worship leader of a mosque. In this context, imams may lead Islamic worship services, lead prayers, serve as community leaders, and provide religious guidance. Ceuta
Ceuta (, , ; ar, سَبْتَة, Sabtah) is a Spanish autonomous city on the north coast of Africa. Bordered by Morocco, it lies along the boundary between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
