U.S. Route 231 (US 231) in Tennessee runs north–south for , entirely in Middle Tennessee, that starts south of Fayetteville at the Alabama state line, and ends north of Westmoreland at the Kentucky state line. For the majority of its length, between the Alabama state line and Trousdale County, it is concurrent with unsigned State Route 10 (SR 10). State Route 129 (SR 129) is a east–west state highway in the hills of southern Middle Tennessee. Route description SR 129 begins in Giles County in Waco at an intersection with US 31/ SR 7. It goes east to pass through Lynnville before passing through farmland in a narrow valley to cross into Marshall County. The highway then has an interchange with I-65 (Exit 27) before winding its way hilly terrain to enter Cornersville and coming to an intersection with US 31A/ SR 11. SR 129 becomes concurrent with US 31A/SR 11 and they turn south along Main Street to pass through town before SR 129 splits off and goes east through farmland to have an intersection with SR 272 in Archer. Highland Rim
The Highland Rim is a geographic term for the area in Tennessee, North Alabama, and Kentucky which surrounds the Central Basin. The Central Basin is a geological dome which has subsequently fractured and eroded to produce a basin. The Highland Rim is a cuesta surrounding the basin, and the border where the difference in elevation is sharply pronounced is an escarpment. Ther feature continues well into Southern Indiana even up as far as Central Indiana as the Indiana Uplands. State Route 15 (SR 15) is a west–east route from Memphis to Monteagle. For much of its route it has an unsigned concurrency with U.S. Route 64.
