U.S. Commission On Evidence-Based Policymaking
The U.S. Commission on Evidence-Based Policymaking was a 15-member agency in the federal government charged by the Us congress, US Congress and the President with examining how government could better use its existing data to provide evidence for future government decisions. The Commission was created in March 2016 by the Evidence-Based Policymaking Commission Act (P.L. 114-140), legislation jointly filed by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senator Patty Murray (D-WA). Over the subsequent 18 months after the law's enactment, the Commission engaged in fact-finding and deliberations that involved consideration of evidence from a survey of more than 200 federal agencies, testimony from more than 50 individuals, and additional written comments from 350 individuals. Jeffrey B. Liebman (born c. 1967) is an American economist and academic. Since 2014, Liebman has served as director of the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston at Harvard Kennedy School. Robert Martin Groves (born September 27, 1948) is an American sociologist and survey methodology expert, currently serving as the interim president of Georgetown University since November 2024. He served as the executive vice president and provost of Georgetown University from August 2012 to November 2024 and as the 23rd director of the United States Census Bureau from 2009 to 2012.
