Maebashi
is the capital city of Gunma Prefecture, in the northern Kantō region of Japan. , the city had an estimated population of 335,352 in 151,171 households, and a population density of 1100 persons per km2. The total area of the city is . It was the most populous city within Gunma Prefecture until Takasaki merged with nearby towns between 2006 and 2009. Maebashi is known to be the "City of Water, Greenery and Poets" because of its pure waters, its rich nature and because it gave birth to several Japanese contemporary poets, such as Sakutarō Hagiwara. Etymology The Maebashi area was called ''Umayabashi'' () during the Nara period. This name finds its origins in the fact that there was a bridge (, ) crossing the Tone River and not far from the bridge there was a small refreshment house with a stable (, ), often used by people travelling on the Tōzan-dō (the road connecting the capital to the eastern regions of Japan). Lucky Star (manga)
is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga series by Kagami Yoshimizu. It has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's '' Comptiq'' magazine since December 2003. Cameo strips were published in other magazines such as '' Shōnen Ace'' and others. ''Lucky Star'' focuses on the daily lives of four girls, there is little in terms of an ongoing plot. An audio drama CD based on the series was released in August 2005, and the series spawned four video games released between 2005 and 2009. A 24-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation aired between April 8 and September 16, 2007. The anime was licensed in North America by Kadokawa Pictures and distributed by Bandai Entertainment; six DVDs have been released between May 2008 and March 2009. An original video animation (OVA) episode was released on September 26, 2008 accompanied by a drama CD. Bandai Entertainment released the OVA in an English-sub only version on August 4, 2009. ''Shuffle!'' (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese visual novel developed by Navel (company), Navel. It was originally released as an Eroge, adult game for Microsoft Windows, Windows on January 30, 2004. It was subsequently followed by an all-ages release for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) and an expanded adult release for Windows. The Windows version was localized in English by MangaGamer in 2009, and the PS2 version was localized in English by YumeHaven in 2016 on Steam (service), Steam. The gameplay in ''Shuffle!'' follows a branching plot line that offers pre-determined scenarios and courses of interaction and focuses on the appeal of the female main characters.
