Türkçevizyon
''Uluslarası Türkçe Sözlü Müzik Festivali'' ( Turkish: ''International Festival of Music with Turkish Lyrics''), or simply ''Türkçevizyon'' is an annual music festival in Denizli, Turkey since 2009. The festival is hosted by Denizli municipality and Turkish Radio and Television Corporation. Unlike Türkvizyon, a similar contest hosted by TRT, Türkçevizyon is not solely competitive, during the festival, concerts and other cultural activities are also scheduled. The Gala night is located in Pamukkale Antique Theatre, and all participants sing only in Turkish language. The festival aims to emphasize the importance of Turkish, however it is widely criticized for having "-vision" or "festival" words, which are not Turkish originated. The festival, as well as Turkvizyon contest, are both considered as a Turkish alternative to Eurovision Song Contest, which Turkey is inactive since 2012. Türkvizyon Song Contest
The Turkvision Song Contest (TSC, ), also known as the Türkvizyon Song Contest, has been a recurring song contest created by Turkish music channel TMB TV, inspired by the format of the Eurovision Song Contest. The Turkvision Song Contest 2013, first edition took place in Eskişehir, Turkey in December 2013. Countries and regions which were Turkic languages, Turkic-speaking and of Turkic people, Turkic ethnicity were eligible to participate in the song contest. The contest was last held on 20 December 2020 as an online event hosted from Istanbul, Turkey. Several cancellations followed, and the future of the Turkvision Song Contest now remains uncertain. Denizli
Denizli is a city in Aegean Region, Aegean Turkey, and seat of the province of Denizli Province, Denizli. The city forms the urban part of the districts Merkezefendi and Pamukkale, Denizli, Pamukkale, with a population of 691 783 in 2024. Denizli has seen economic development in the last few decades, mostly due to textile production and exports. Turkish Radio And Television Corporation
The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT; Turkish: ) is the national public broadcasting, public broadcaster of Turkey, founded in 1964. TRT was for many years the only television and radio broadcaster in Turkey. Before the introduction of commercial radio in 1990, and subsequently commercial television in 1992, it held a monopoly on broadcasting. More recent deregulation of the Turkish television broadcasting market produced analogue terrestrial television. Pamukkale Antique Theatre
Pamukkale, () meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The area is famous for a carbonate mineral left by the flowing of thermal spring water. It is located in Turkey's Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year. The ancient Greek city of Hierapolis was built on top of the travertine formation which is in total about long, wide and high. It can be seen from the hills on the opposite side of the valley in the town of Denizli, 20 km away. This area has been drawing visitors to its thermal springs since the time of classical antiquity. The Turkish name refers to the surface of the shimmering, snow-white limestone, shaped over millennia by calcite-rich springs. The Cihan News Agency () was a Turkish news agency based in Istanbul. The agency, established in 1994, was part of Feza Publications, which also owned '' Zaman'' newspaper and '' Aksiyon'', a weekly news magazine. Cihan New Agency, which produced news in the fields of current events, politics, economy, foreign news, art-magazine and sports, was daily servicing approximately 450 written news, 315 photos and 100 video news. Radikal
''Radikal'' () was a daily liberal Turkish language newspaper, published in Istanbul. From 1996 it was published by Aydın Doğan's Doğan Media Group. Although Radikal did not endorse a particular political alignment, it was generally considered by the public to be a social liberal newspaper. Despite only having a circulation of around 25,000 (July 2013), it was considered one of the most influential Turkish newspapers.
