Jacques Telesphore Roman
Jacques Telesphore Roman (March 22, 1800 – April 11, 1848) was a 19th-century Louisiana businessman, sugar planter, and builder of the Oak Alley Plantation. Early years Born near Opelousas, Louisiana, the son of Jacques Etienne Roman of Grenoble, France, and Marie Louise Patin, Jacques Telesphore Roman and his family later moved to St. James Parish and engaged in the lucrative sugar trade. As the Roman family achieved greater prominence as leaders in society, their activities alternated between their sugar plantations in St. James Parish and elegant dwellings in New Orleans. Among the latter was the house now known as Madame John's Legacy on Rue Dumaine – which was purchased by Jacques Etienne's widow for herself and her bachelor sons shortly after her husband's death. Télesphore Fournier
Télesphore Fournier, (August 5, 1823 – May 10, 1896) was a Canadian politician, lawyer, and justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. Born in Saint-François-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, Lower Canada, Fournier read law in the early 1840s and was called to the bar in 1846. He was acclaimed to the House of Commons of Canada in 1870 and served in the cabinet of Prime Minister Alexander Mackenzie as Minister of Inland Revenue, Justice and Attorney General, Postmaster General. In 1875, Mackenzie appointed Fournier as one of the first six justices of the newly established Supreme Court of Canada. He served on the Court for 19 years until his retirement in 1895 and died less than a year later, in 1896. Telesphore Toppo
Telesphore Placidus Toppo (15 October 1939 – 4 October 2023) was an Indian prelate of the Catholic Church and a member of the aboriginal tribal community who was archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ranchi from 1985 to 2018, after serving as coadjutor there for a year. He was bishop of Dumka from 1978 to 1984. He was made a cardinal in 2003, the first from India's tribal population. A polyglot, Toppo spoke Sadri, Oraon (mother tongues), Hindi (official language), English and Italian. Biography Telesphore Placidus Toppo was born in Chainpur, in the state of Bihar and now in Jharkhand, India, on 15 October 1939, the eighth of ten children. He and his family belonged to Adivasi (indigenous tribal) community. Toppo studied at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, and theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome. Télesphore-Damien Bouchard
Télesphore-Damien Bouchard (December 20, 1881 – November 13, 1962) was a politician in Quebec, Canada. Born in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, he was the mayor of the municipality from 1917 to 1930 and from 1932 to 1944 and president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in 1918. He also founded the Union des municipalités de la province de Québec (Federation of municipalities in the province of Quebec) in 1919. He served as Liberal leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1936 to 1939, after Liberal leader Adélard Godbout lost the 1936 election and also narrowly lost his own seat. Bouchard served as opposition leader while Godbout remained leader of the Liberal Party. After the Liberals returned to power in the 1939 election, he served in Godbout's cabinet. Resigned in 1944 when he was appointed to the Senate, where he remained until his death. Overall, he was the MLA for the district of Saint-Hyacinthe from 1912 to 1919 and from 1923 to 1944. ...

Télesphore-Eusèbe Normand (August 18, 1832 – April 3, 1918) was a politician from Quebec, Canada. Background He was born on August 18, 1832, in Quebec City. He was a notary. Mayor of Trois-Rivières Normand served as a Council member from 1861 to 1865 and as a Mayor of Trois-Rivières from 1873 to 1876 and from 1889 to 1894.
