Aaron Tänzer
Aaron Tänzer (, ; also ; January 30, 1871 – February 26, 1937, Göppingen) was a rabbi in Austria and Germany, chaplain and author. Biography He was born in Pressburg, Austria-Hungary (present day Bratislava, Slovakia). He studied at the Pressburg Yeshiva, and studied Oriental philology and history at the University of Berlin (PhD 1895). In 1896, he was called to Hohenems, Austria as chief rabbi of Tyrol and Vorarlberg; and from 1904 to 1907 he was rabbi of Meran (Tyrol). From 1907 until his death, he served as rabbi of the Jewish community of Göppingen in Württemberg, Germany. His history of the Jews of Göppingen and nearby Jebenhausen is notable as a thorough documentation of a Jewish community from its beginnings. In World War I, he served as a ''Feldrabbiner'' (Jewish chaplain) in the German army, primarily on the Eastern front. Johann Tanzer (1927-2016) was a Canadians, Canadian sailboat designer, who founded the sailboat manufacturer that bore his name, Tanzer Industries, in 1966. Early life Johann Tanzer was born on 3 January 1927 in the village of Velden am Wörther See, in the province of Carinthia, Austria. In 1941 Tanzer began his apprenticeship in shipbuilding at the Valentin Feinig (Feinig Werft) boat yard on the shores of the Wörthersee. The shipyard built sailing yachts, cruiser-racer and motor boats. Johann Tanzer completed his apprenticeship before being drafted into the Navy on Jan. 3, 1945, his birthday. Katharina Tanzer (born 26 Juli 1995 in Scheibbs) is an Austrian judoka and Austrian state champion 48 kg. Judo career Education Katharina Tanzer grew up in Gresten in the district of Scheibbs in Lower Austria. She began her judo career at SV Ulmerferld in Lower Austria. Kurt Tanzer (1 November 1920 – 25 June 1960) was a World War II Luftwaffe military aviator. As a flying ace, he is credited with approximately 128–143 aerial victories. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, the highest award in the military and paramilitary forces of Nazi Germany during World War II. Philipp Tanzer (born 31 December 1977) is a German men's rights activist and former adult entertainer in gay films, in which he performed under the stage name Logan McCree. After serving in the German military, Tanzer was part of the leather subculture in Germany. William Tans'ur (or Tansur, Tanzer, Letansur) (6 November 1706, Dunchurch – 7 October 1783, St. Neots) was an English hymn-writer, composer of West gallery music, and teacher of music. His output includes approximately a hundred hymn tunes and psalm settings and a ''Te Deum''. His manual ''A New Musical Grammar'' (1746) was still popular in the nineteenth century. Life Tans'ur was born in Dunchurch, Warwickshire to Edward Tanzer, a labourer, and Joan Alibone. In 1730 he married Elizabeth Butler and moved to Ewell, near Epsom. They had at least two sons.
