Tzu Kyohei
TZU (pronounced "Tee Zed Yoo") were an Australian hip hop group, formed in 1999 by Joelistics, Yeroc, Seed MC and Paso Bionic. Duzy What joined in 2005. The band used live instruments in their recordings and live performances, giving their shows a rock-infused feeling. Musically, TZU often blended hip-hop with other genres, such as rock, blues, jazz and electronica. TZU released four studio albums, ''Position Correction'' (2004), ''Smiling at Strangers'' (2005), '' Computer Love'' (2008, which peaked in the ARIA Charts top 30) and ''Millions of Moments'' (2012), before disbanding in 2013. Big Day Out
The Big Day Out (BDO) was an annual music festival that was held in five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. The festival was held during summer, typically in January of each year but was sometimes held as late as early February in some cities including Perth. The event was conceptualised after the Violent Femmes announced a tour of Australia. Promoters Ken West and Vivian Lees sought another act as middle-level support for the band's tour. They succeeded in securing Nirvana (band), Nirvana to play the Sydney leg at the Hordern Pavilion. The Big Day Out debuted on the 1992 Australia Day public holiday in Sydney and eventually expanded to Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth the following year. Snarling At Strangers
''Snarling at Strangers'' is a re-release of TZU's second studio album, ''Smiling at Strangers''. Repackaged as a double album, ''Snarling at Strangers'' was released in 2006 to coincide with a nationwide tour. The first disc of the album contains all the songs from the original album, while the second disc features five previously unreleased tracks that weren't included on the original album as the band felt they were too dark and political in comparison to the rest of the album's more light-hearted tones. The second disc also includes the music videos for ''Dam Busters'' and ''Wild Stylee'', two singles from their debut album, ''Position Correction'', as well as a live recording of ''She Gets Up'', recorded as part of Yahoo Music, Yahoo Music's "Who's Next" sessions. The Australian Music Prize (often shortened to the AMP) is an annual award of $50,000 ($30,000 from 2005 to 2023) given to an Australian band or solo artist in recognition of the merit of an album released during the year of award. Regurgitator are an Australian alternative rock band from Brisbane, Queensland, formed in late 1993 by Quan Yeomans on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards; Ben Ely on bass guitar, keyboards and vocals; and Martin Lee on drums. Their debut studio album, '' Tu-Plang'' was released in May 1996; it was followed by '' Unit'' in November 1997 which was certified triple platinum. Magoo (Australian Producer)
Magoo is the professional name of Lachlan Goold, a multi award-winning Australian music producer based in Brisbane, Queensland. After working briefly in mechanical engineering, Magoo began in music as a live sound engineer, touring nationally before producing seasoned local Brisbane bands the Dreamkillers and Pangaea in the early 1990s. By the mid-1990s Magoo had recorded music by Powderfinger, as well as two EPs by Regurgitator. He rose to prominence with his production work on Regurgitator's debut album '' Tu-Plang'', which also earned him his first ARIA award nominations in 1996.
