Tyrrell 022
The Tyrrell 022 was the car with which the Tyrrell Racing, Tyrrell team competed in the 1994 Formula One World Championship. The car was powered by the Yamaha Motor Company, Yamaha OX10B 3.5-litre V10 engine, V10 engine and was driven by Japanese Ukyo Katayama, in his second season with the team, and Briton Mark Blundell, who moved from Équipe Ligier, Ligier. The 022 was the car with which Tyrrell achieved its final podium finish, courtesy of Blundell at the 1994 Spanish Grand Prix, Spanish Grand Prix. It was replaced by the Tyrrell 023, 023 for . Later use In 2009, one of the 022s was used in the US BOSS GP, BOSS Championship. Mark Blundell (born 8 April 1966) is a British former racing driver and sports broadcasting, broadcaster, who competed in Formula One from to , and Championship Auto Racing Teams, IndyCar from 1996 PPG Indy Car World Series, 1996 to 2000 CART FedEx Championship Series, 2000. In endurance racing (motorsport), endurance racing, Blundell won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in with Peugeot Sport, Peugeot. He was a Formula One presenter for the British broadcaster ITV (TV network), ITV until the end of the 2008 season when the TV broadcasting rights switched to the BBC. A sequential manual transmission, also known as a sequential gearbox or sequential transmission, is a type of Non-synchronous transmission, non-synchronous manual transmission used mostly in motorcycles and Auto racing, racing cars. The BOSS GP Racing Series is a motor racing series in Europe. The category originated in 1995 as the BOSS Formula series and evolved into the EuroBOSS Series. BOSS is an acronym that stands for Big Open Single Seaters. History The BOSS series was created by Roger Cowman & Mark Haddon in 1995 under the regulations of the RAC Motor Sports Association and raced mainly in Great Britain. 1994 Spanish Grand Prix
The 1994 Spanish Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 29 May 1994 at the Circuit de Catalunya, Montmeló. It was the 36th Spanish Grand Prix and the fourth to be held at the Circuit de Catalunya, and the fifth race of the 1994 Formula One World Championship. The 65-lap race was won by Englishman Damon Hill, driving a Williams-Renault. It was the first victory of the season for Hill and the Williams team, who were still recovering from the death of Ayrton Senna at Imola four weeks previously. Hill won by 24 seconds from German driver and championship leader Michael Schumacher, whose Benetton- Ford was stuck in fifth gear for most of the race. Équipe Ligier () is a motorsport team, best known for its Formula One team that operated from to . The team was founded in 1968 by former French rugby union player Guy Ligier as a sports car manufacturer. Sports car origins After retiring from racing following the death of his friend Jo Schlesser, Guy Ligier decided to found his own team and had engineer Michel Têtu develop a sports car named Ligier JS1, JS1 (Schlesser's initials).
