Two Men Of Fiji
''Two Men of Fiji'' is a 1959 Australian television documentary. It was directed by Brett Porter for the Shell Film Unit. It was filmed by Hone Glendinning and Roger Mirams in Fiji over a two-month period and was screened theatrically in Fiji. Notable for reputedly being Fiji's first hour-long colour documentary and its location recording of the Lauan language. Brett Porter
Brett Porter is an Australian producer, writer and director best known for his work in TV. He worked at ATN-7 producing some of the first drama made for Australian television. He moved to the ABC in 1964, where he made documentaries and worked on ''Four Corners''. He was then producer on ''Bellbird''. He died in 1970 aged 57. John Heyer
John Whitefoord Heyer (14 September 1916 – 19 June 2001) was an Australian documentary filmmaker, who is often described as the father of Australian documentary film.''Oxford companion to Australian film'' (1999) John Heyer spent the majority of his career producing and/or directing sponsored documentaries, and was active from the 1930s until his death. His most successful film was ''The Back of Beyond'' (1954), but many of his films garnered awards at festivals around the world. Roger Mirams
Roger Eastgate Holden Mirams (16 April 1918 – 26 February 2004) was a New Zealand-born film producer and director, whose career extended over 60 years. Mirams co-directed '' Broken Barrier'', the only local dramatic feature film made in New Zealand in the 1950s, and later won a reputation for the children's television series he produced in Australia. Biography Mirams was born in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, New Zealand where he made his first film aged 13, ''When the Gangsters Came to Christchurch''. It screened at a local cinema in 1931. Mirams joined the New Zealand Army at the outbreak of World War II, working as a war correspondent and cameraman throughout the duration of the war, which saw him travel with the New Zealand Division throughout Italy and the Middle East.
