Darrin Kenneth O'Brien (born October 30, 1969), known by his stage name Snow, is a Canadian reggae musician, rapper and singer. Despite being his fifth album, this was the first disc since his 1993 debut ''12 Inches of Snow'' that Snow returned to the pop charts and received mainstream airplay on both radio and television. The album's lead single, " Everybody Wants to Be Like You" received the most radio airplay, reaching #2 on Canada's Top Singles chart. The album's second single, "The Plumb Song", also received significant radio airplay and its music video received heavy rotation on MuchMusic. "Legal" is a song recorded by Canadian reggae singer Snow. It was released in October 2002 as the first single from his 2002 album, '' Two Hands Clapping''. Music video The music video for "Legal" features Trailer Park Boys character Bubbles. The video begins with a scene between Snow and Bubbles. Snow is repeatedly honking the horn in his car, yelling for Bubbles to come out of his trailer so they can go to a music video shoot. However, Bubbles can't leave yet because he has to take care of his neighbour's cat. Snow, who is already late for the video shoot, leaves without him, much to Bubbles' dismay. An angry Bubbles asks Snow to put his name at the door. The video then switches to the song and the video shoot. Bubbles arrives at the video shoot, but the security guards refuse to let him in because his name is not on the list. History In the 1960s, the Canadian music industry was disparate and regionally focused, and English-speaking Canadian artists were often overlooked in favour of American acts. To encourage a more national focus and ensure that domestic artists were promoted across Canada, the Maple Leaf System (MLS) was set up in 1969. The MLS produced its own national singles chart, which ''Billboard'' magazine reproduced as Canada's entry in its weekly Hits of the World section. Advisory (abbreviated PAL) is a warning label introduced by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1985 and adopted by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in 2011. It is placed on audio recordings in recognition of profanity or inappropriate references, with the intention of alerting parents of material potentially unsuitable for children under the age of 16 or the age of majority. The label was first affixed on physical 33 1/3 rpm records, compact discs and cassette tapes, and it has been included on digital listings offered by online music stores. In PAL-region territories, some video games featuring licensed music were affixed with the label in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Jam! was a Canadian website which covers entertainment news. It was part of the Canoe.com online portal, formerly owned and operated by Quebecor through its Sun Media division, and now owned by Postmedia Network. Jam! was the only media outlet that published a comprehensive collection of the official Canadian record charts as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. CKXT-TV, Sun Media's television station in Toronto, aired a nightly entertainment magazine series, ''Inside Jam!''. However, due to low ratings the program's airtime was reduced substantially. Effective March 24, 2006, the show went from a daily program to a weekend only show, before later being removed from the schedule altogether.
