''Twenty Million Questions'' is a Canadian public affairs television series which aired on CBC Television from 1966 to 1969. Premise This weekly half-hour series featured documentary and interview footage regarding topics of national concern. Its hosts were Carleton University political science professor Donald Gordon and journalist Charles Lynch. Episode directors included Ed Reid and Moses Znaimer. Bernard Ostry served as series Production Supervisor. Charles Lynch (journalist)
Charles Burchill Lynch, (3 December 1919 – 21 July 1994) was a Canadian journalist and author. Biography Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Canadian parents, he moved with his family to Saint John, New Brunswick when he was two weeks old. In 1936, he started his career in journalism with the ''Saint John Citizen'' and then moved on to the '' Halifax Herald'', followed by the Canadian Press in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Lynch was appointed Vancouver bureau chief of the British United Press in 1940. The following year, he was transferred to Toronto to assume the position of divisional manager. Reuters years In 1943, Lynch joined Reuters News Agency as a World War II correspondent. He was one of nine Canadian reporters to accompany troops ashore on D-Day, landing with them at Juno Beach. Eric William Kierans (2 February 1914 – 10 May 2004) was a Canadians, Canadian economist and politician. Early life Eric Kierans was born on 2 February 1914, in Montreal to Irish Canadians, Irish immigrant parents. He grew up in a working-class neighborhood and attended Loyola College (Montreal), Loyola College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in commerce. After graduation, Kierans worked for several years in the family fur and leather business before leaving to pursue a career in politics. He joined the Liberal Party of Canada and was elected to the House of Commons of Canada, House of Commons in 1962, representing the riding of Saint-Laurent (federal electoral district), Saint-Laurent. During his early life, Kierans was a passionate supporter of the cooperative movement and believed in the power of community organizing. 24 Sussex Drive, originally called Gorffwysfa and usually referred to simply as 24 Sussex, is the official residence of the prime minister of Canada, in the New Edinburgh neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario. John James Deutsch (26 February 1911 – March 18, 1976) was a Canadian economist who served as the first chairman of the Economic Council of Canada, and as principal (1968–74) of Queen's University. Born in Quinton, Saskatchewan, and educated at Queen's, he worked in journalism and in government, as well as at the university.
