Elizabeth Ada Bronson (November 17, 1906 – October 19, 1971) was an American film and television actress who began her career during the silent film era. Early years Bronson was born in Trenton, New Jersey, to Frank and Nellie Smith Bronson. She moved to East Orange, New Jersey and attended East Orange High School until she "convinced her parents to let her move to California to aid her career in films." Subsequently, the entire family moved to California. Film career Bronson began her film career at the age of 16 with a bit part in ''Anna Ascends''. At 17, she was interviewed by J. M. Barrie, author of ''Peter Pan''. Although the role had been sought by such established actresses as Gloria Swanson and Mary Pickford, Barrie personally chose Bronson to play the lead in the film adaptation of his work, which was released in 1924. Helen Tracy
Helen Tracy (May 7, 1850 – September 5, 1924) was an American stage and silent film actress. Tracy was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and grew up in San Francisco. Tracy's stage career began there in stock theater at the California Theatre. From there she went east, acting in stock for two years at the Boston Theatre. On September 20, 1870, she opened with Wallack's stock company, portraying Julia in ''The Rivals''. Her Broadway debut came in ''Birth'' (1871), and her last Broadway credit was ''Romance'' (1921). Tracy began working in films around 1916 and did only a few features. She was the mother of Virginia Tracy through a relationship with actor John McCullough. She died at the Actors' Fund Home on Staten Island on September 5, 1924. Nellie Parker Spaulding (August 4, 1870 – June 18, 1945) was an American silent film actress who appeared in at least 37 films between 1915 and 1925. Early life and career Parker was born in Machias, Maine and educated at the Emerson College of Expression in Boston. Her early career was in stage productions included '' The Country Boy, The Dawn of a To-morrow,'' and '' The Governor's Lady.'' She also worked with Union Opera Company. Parker's first film role came when she was 45 years old, in ''The Flying Twins'' (1915), playing the role of 'Aunt Sally'. Between 1915 and 1917 she would appear in 14 different Thanhouser Studio films. Originally billed as 'Eleanor Spaulding', she was using the more informal 'Nellie' by 1918. She most often played mothers, aunts, or older women, such as "Mrs. Peniston" in the first filmed version of Edith Wharton's '' The House of Mirth'' (1918).
