Ed Tweddell
Ed Tweddell ( – 4 August 2005) was an Australian businessperson. He was best known for his role as CEO of Australia's largest indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturer F H Faulding and as Chairman of Ansell. He also served on the board of a number of significant private and public sector organisations including the National Australia Bank, Australia Post and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). Early life and career Tweddell was born in Brisbane and graduated in science and medicine from the University of Queensland. Dr Tweddell started his career as a medical practitioner before obtaining a job with Pfizer Inc. in 1976. At Pfizer, Tweddell worked on drug development and medical relations. In 1986, Tweddell was appointed CEO and President of a Japanese healthcare company and stayed with that company for a couple of years. John Tweddell
John Tweddell (1 June 1769 – 25 July 1799) was an English classical scholar and traveller. Early life The son of Francis Tweddell, he was born on 1 June 1769 at Threepwood, near Hexham, Northumberland. He was educated at Hartforth school, near Richmond, Yorkshire, under Matthew Raine (father of Matthew Raine FRS), at Hatton, Warwickshire under Samuel Parr, and at Trinity College, Cambridge. He graduated B.A. and won the second chancellor's medal in 1790, proceeding M.A. in 1793. He gained all the Browne medals in 1788 and two of the three in 1789, and the members' prize in 1791. He was elected Fellow of Trinity in 1792. Tweddell had been a pupil of the reformer Thomas Jones, who had backed him for the fellowship. Ralph Hart Tweddell
Ralph Hart Tweddell (25 May 1843 – 3 September 1895) was a British mechanical engineer, known particularly for inventing the portable hydraulic riveter, which greatly facilitated the construction of boilers, bridges and ships. Early life Tweddell was born in South Shields in 1843. His father, Marshall Tweddell, was a shipowner. He was educated at Cheltenham College, with the intention of entering the army.
