Antonius Johannes Petrus Poels (born 27 July 1963 in Oeffelt) is a retired Dutch professional cyclist. In 1984, Poels rode the road race in the 1984 Summer Olympics as a member of the Dutch team, but did not finish. Poels became a professional cyclist in 1985 for the team. He stayed with this team (that became in 1987 and in 1990) until he retired in 1992. He rode the Tour de France five times, finishing every time. Twan van Gendt (born 9 June 1992 in 's-Hertogenbosch) is a Dutch racing cyclist who represents the Netherlands in BMX. He was selected to represent the Netherlands at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the men's BMX event, where he placed 5th in the final. In June 2015, he competed in the European Games, inaugural European Games, for the Netherlands in cycling, more specifically, Men's BMX. He earned a silver medal. Twan competed at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in the men's BMX competition, where he placed 9th.
