Tuvalu National Football Association
The Tuvalu Islands Football Association (TIFA) is the governing body of football in Tuvalu. The association is responsible for the Tuvalu national football team and the Tuvalu national futsal team. Tuvalu is not a full member and is not affiliated with FIFA. It does not compete in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers because of its non-affiliation. Football in Tuvalu is played at club and national team level. The association is a member of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) but not affiliated to FIFA. The association has been wanting to be a member of FIFA since 1987. However the lack of football facilities in Tuvalu is a major obstacle membership of FIFA. Tuvalu does not have a stadium, or training grounds or hotels for visiting teams and supporters. Oceania Football Confederation
The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is one of the six continental confederations of international association football. The OFC has 13 members, 11 of which are full members and two which are associate members not affiliated with FIFA. It promotes the game in Oceania and allows the member nations to qualify for the FIFA World Cup. OFC is predominantly made up of island nations where association football is not the most popular sport, with low GDP and low population meaning very little money is generated by the OFC nations. The OFC has little influence in the wider football world, either in terms of international competition or as a source of players for high-profile club competitions. Jays are a paraphyletic grouping of passerine birds within the family Corvidae. Toakai Puapua
Toakai Puapua is a Tuvaluan gymnastics and football coach and the former coach of the Tuvalu national football team. From 2014 to 2020, he has been the president of the Tuvalu National Football Association (TNFA). Career From 2006 up to 2008 he was coach of Tofaga A, Tofaga won the NBT in 2006 & 2007 and the Independence Cup in 2006. In 2007, he was the football coach of Tuvalu during the 2007 South Pacific Games in Samoa. The first game of his tenure was a 16-0 loss to Fiji. However Tuvalu fought hard against New Caledonia (who were joint leaders of the competition) and only lost 1-0. Tuvalu then drew 1–1 with Tahiti, with a late equaliser from Viliamu Sekifu, who becoming as the first World cup scorer for his country. However the Cook Islands defeated Tuvalu 4-1. 2007 Pacific Games
The 13th South Pacific Games (), also known as Apia 2007, were held from 25 August to 8 September 2007 in Apia, Samoa. The Games were the thirteenth to be held since the inception of the South Pacific Games in 1963, and included traditional multi-sport event disciplines, such as athletics and swimming, alongside region-specific and smaller events such as outrigger canoeing, surfing and lawn bowls. The principal venue for the Games was Apia Park, with other events taking place at the Faleata Sporting Complex and at other locations around Samoa. Solomon Islands National Football Team
The Solomon Islands men's national football team is the national football team of Solomon Islands, administered by the Solomon Islands Football Federation. The Solomon Islands national football team was founded in 1978. They were officially recognised by FIFA a decade later, in 1988. Vanuatu National Football Team
The Vanuatu men's national football team () represents Vanuatu in men's international football competitions. The team is governed by the Vanuatu Football Federation, which is currently a member of FIFA and the Oceania Football Confederation. History Early years (1951–2022) It was known as the New Hebrides until the New Hebrides became Republic of Vanuatu in 1980. It finished fourth in the OFC Nations Cup in 1973, 2000, and 2002. Kiribati National Football Team
The Kiribati men's national football team is the national men's football team of Kiribati and is controlled by the Kiribati Islands Football Association. Kiribati is not a member of FIFA but is an associate member of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), and is therefore not eligible to enter the FIFA World Cup but may enter the OFC Nations Cup. Tim Jerks is an Australian football coach. Jerks was active as coaching development manager at the New South Wales Institute of Sport, before he was appointed in May 2003 as the coach of the Tuvalu national football team. Fiji National Football Team
The Fiji men's national football team () is Fiji's national men's team and is controlled by the governing body of football in Fiji, the Fiji Football Association. The team plays most of their home games at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Fiji first participated in the FIFA World Cup qualification in 1982; since 1990, Fiji have attempted to qualify for each World Cup without success.
