Turubah
Turabah (, also spelled ''turaba'', ''turba'' or ''tarba'') is a city in Najd in Saudi Arabia, located in the valley of the same name. Turubah is located south of the mountain of Hadhn ("Jebel Hadhn"), to the southeast of Mecca. It is therefore considered on the border between the topographic regions of Hejaz and Najd. The town's traditional inhabitants are the tribe of Al-Bugum. The population of Turubah was 42,810 in 2004, while now in 2020 about 100,000. Battle Of Turubah
The Battle of Turubah was fought on May 26, 1924, between the forces of Hussein bin Ali, King of Hejaz, Hussein bin Ali, under the command of his son Abdullah I of Jordan, Abdullah bin Al-Hussein, and forces under the command of Ibn Saud, Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud. It was a larger part of the Saudi conquest of Hejaz, Hejaz-Nejd War, as well as the Al-Khurma dispute. The battle resulted in the end of Hussein's hopes to expand into the Arabian Peninsula, Arabian peninsula, as well as opening the way for Ibn Saud to fortify his own control over the region, which in turn would eventually lead to the creation of Saudi Arabia. Battle Of Turubah (1813)
The Battle of Turuba took place in 1813 when Ottoman forces besieged Turubah. The garrison was led by Ghaliyya Al Bogammiah who successfully routed the Ottoman army. Background The town of Turubah was located southeast of Mecca and was the home of the Al-Bugum tribes, who worked as shepherds and cultivators. They were led by a widow named Ghaliyya Al Bogammiah whose husband was one of the chiefs of Turuba and possessed great wealth. She distributed her wealth to the poor who were ready to fight the Ottomans and she usually held councils with other Saudi chiefs in her house. In the month of Sha'ban (August), she led the Saudi troops against Mustafa Bey, who attacked Turuba, and successfully defeated the first Ottoman attack. The Ottoman army's fears soon inspired stories against her. They regarded her as chief of the Wahhabis and circulated stories about her being a sorceress. Shanqal Fort () is a ruined fort near the city of Turubah, Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia, officially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is a country in West Asia. Najd is a Historical region, historical region of the Arabian Peninsula that includes most of the central region of Saudi Arabia. It is roughly bounded by the Hejaz region to the west, the Nafud desert in Al-Jawf Province, al-Jawf to the north, ad-Dahna Desert in Al-Ahsa Governorate, al-Ahsa to the east, and Rub' al Khali, Rub' al-Khali to the south, although its exact boundaries cannot be determined due to varying geographical and political limits throughout history.
