Buddy Turman
Reagan Garth "Buddy" Turman (April 12, 1933 – April 1, 2007) was an American professional boxer who competed in the Heavyweight division. Boxing career In his two years as an amateur in Texas, Turman accrued 20 wins and 5 losses, and one draw, he set a record for the quickest knockout in National AAU history. Turman fought his first professional match in September 1954, against Bobby Babcock, which he won. Five months later, Turman became the first white man to legally fight an African-American in Texas thanks to the efforts of African-American I. H. "Sporty" Harvey, who had successfully challenged boxing segregation in court. Turman won the match against Harvey on February 24, 1955, and won a rematch in June 1955. In November 1955, with 11 wins and one loss, Turman fought Roy "Cut-n-Shoot" Harris for the Texas Heavyweight Championship in Tyler, Texas. George Turman
George Fugett Turman (January 25, 1928 – December 9, 2008) was the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Montana. Originally a Republican Party (United States), Republican state legislator before becoming a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat, he was elected to the position in 1980 on a ticket with fellow Democrat Ted Schwinden. They were re-elected in 1984. Turman relinquished the position in 1988. He died of natural causes on December 9, 2008, in Missoula, Montana, aged 80. References

Jimmy Turman
James Arthur Turman Sr. (November 29, 1927 – February 13, 2019) was an American politician and educator. He served as a Democratic member in the Texas House of Representatives from 1955 to 1963. In 1961, he served as Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. He died of a stroke in Austin on February 13, 2019 at age the age of 91. Early life Turman served in the United States Navy.
