Turkish Space Agency
The Turkish Space Agency ( tr, Türkiye Uzay Ajansı, TUA) is a government agency for national aerospace research as a part of the space program of Turkey. It was formally established by a presidential decree on 13 December 2018. Headquartered in Ankara, the agency is subordinated to the Ministry of Industry and Technology. With the establishment of TUA, the Department for Aviation and Space Technologies at the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure was abolished. TUA prepares strategic plans that include medium and long-term goals, basic principles and approaches, objectives and priorities, performance measures, methods to be followed and resource allocation for aerospace science and technologies. TUA works in close collaboration with the TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute (TÜBİTAK UZAY). It is administrated by an executive board of seven members. Turkish Aerospace Inc. Space Camp Turkey is located in the Aegean Free Zone, a high-tech industrial park in Gaziemir metropolitan district of Izmir, Turkey, operated by ESBAS the Aegean Free Zone Development and Operating Company. Izmir is a Mediterranean city on the western coast of Turkey with a population of over 4 million people. Space Camp Turkey is one of three space camps in the world, and one of two in Asia. Space Launch System (Turkey)
The Space Launch System ( tr, Uydu Fırlatma Sistemi), shortly UFS, is a project to develop the satellite launch capability of Turkey. The aim of the project is to support the sustainability of the national satellite programs and to reach the space independently. Turkish Space Systems, Integration and Test Centre ( tr, Uzay Sistemleri, Entegrasyon ve Test Merkezi) (USET) is a spacecraft production and testing facility owned by the Ministry of National Defence and operated by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). It is located in Ankara, Turkey. The facility's official inauguration took place on May 21, 2015 in presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
