Bran (; ) is a commune in BraÈ™ov County, Transylvania, Romania. It is about southwest of the city of BraÈ™ov and consists of five villages: Bran, Poarta (), PredeluÈ› (''Kispredeál''), Șimon (''Simon''), and Sohodol (''Szohodol''). The medieval Bran Castle is a popular tourist destination, partly because it has been promoted by the Romanian tourism industry as having been the home of Dracula in Bram Stoker's novel of the same name. The Bucegi Mountains ( ) are located in central Romania, south of the city of BraÈ™ov. They are part of the Southern Carpathians group of the Carpathian Mountains.
