Turab Ali (cricketer)
Agha Turab Ali (born 8 February 1920,) was an Indian cricketer. He played first-class cricket for Delhi and Punjab between 1945 and 1958.He also played Ranji trophy and is in the list of top scorers.Later he joined Delhi Gymkhana Club and serve as a head coach And selector there. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. Delhi Cricket Team
The Delhi cricket team is a first-class cricket team based in Delhi, run by the Delhi District Cricket Association, that plays in India's first class competition, the Ranji Trophy and limited-overs Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. They have won the Ranji Trophy seven times and have been runners-up eight. Their latest title in 2007-08 came after a long wait of 16 years. The previous win was in the 1991–92 season when they beat Tamil Nadu in the final. The team's home ground is Arun Jaitley Stadium. The Ranji Trophy (also known as Mastercard Ranji Trophy for sponsorship reasons) is a domestic first-class cricket championship played in India between multiple teams representing regional and state cricket associations.
